DESCRIPTION:Join Literacy Volunteers for a day of presentations\, workshops\, discussions\, and community. This one-day conference with other literacy tutors\, adult educators\, and community members will be held on June 13 at PVCC’s Bolick Center. Together\, we will explore ways to continue serving our students! \nDate: Saturday\, June 13\nTime: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.\nLocation: The Bolick Center\, PVCC\, 501 College Way\, Charlottesville\nCost: $32 for LVCA tutors; $52 for the general public. Fee includes breakfast refreshments and lunch from Sticks Kebab. \nTopics will include: \n\nHomework strategies\nUtilizing LVCA’s Citizenship curriculum\nTeaching prepositions\nAsking the right question\nPresentations from adult education and literacy experts\, including ProLiteracy\, Blue Ridge Literacy\, and Virginia Adult Learning Resource Center\nCommunity Partner presentations that will address vital resources for our students\, including Virginia Career Works\nWork sessions to generate materials for your lessons\n\nAnd more!
