FLIPP, Inc. is a black, female, veteran, and justice-impacted led 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to creating and supporting an inclusive workforce. They focus on reducing employment barriers for formerly incarcerated individuals, veterans, BIPOC, women, and youth, as well as empowering low-income communities with renewable energy, contractor development and entrepreneurship training opportunities. Based in Dillwyn, Virginia (part of Buckingham County), FLIPP is committed to ensuring the green energy transition is inclusive and supportive of underserved communities.
FLIPP conducts North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certification prep and NCCER training at their Dillwyn office, a repurposed gas station, as well as through mobile training at locations around Virginia. Their comprehensive programs, including the Sustainable Energy Electrician with a Solar Specialty and HVAC Technician Registered Apprenticeship Programs, that enable apprentices to obtain their journey-worker credential and equip participants with the skills needed to thrive in the renewable energy and energy efficiency industries. FLIPP plays a vital role in building stronger, more resilient communities by fostering economic development and community improvement opportunities.
