The Apprenticeship Program of Facilities Management at the University of Virginia is now accepting applications for its highly regarded Apprenticeship Program. For anyone who has been looking for a career in the trades, this is the opportunity to do so while working as a full-time, benefits-eligible employee of UVA. Training will consist of rotations in Facilities Management departments throughout the University, including maintenance, repair, new construction, utilities, and industrial systems, to equip apprentices with a broad range of skills to support University construction and maintenance needs. Apprentices are required to attend classes one or two nights a week while working full-time and must achieve grades of ‘B’ or better, with mandatory attendance.Online applications will be accepted until April 29, 2022. The candidates selected for hire will start work on mid-July, 2022. Applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent by that start date of the position. Selected candidates will pass a background check and a health screen.If you know anyone who might be interested in a UVA apprenticeship in the skilled trades, please share this information with them.
